If you are a passionate and innovative Product Developer for denim, GANT now has an exciting opportunity for you to join our Product Creation Team in Stockholm, Sweden.
Working in an environment driven by passion, innovation and authenticity, you will be responsible for developing all denim produced under the House of GANT (GANT, GANT Diamond G and GANT Rugger). You will work in close collaboration with your fellow designers and product developers as well as with sourcing and supply teams (both internal and external). This role reports directly to the Product Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Take an active part in the planning and building of the denim assortment at GANT to ensure sales and profitability targets are met.
- Ensure that the development process is adhered to and followed.
- Clearly communicate timelines, both internally and externally, to suppliers
- Develop the right products with the right quantity, at the right time and at the right price point.
- Work proactively in sourcing and developing fabrics that meet GANT’s standards.
- Maintain daily contact with suppliers, follow-up on the testing of materials and samples and ensure comments are both communicated and understood.
- Work together with Design Studio (both the pattern maker and seamstress) to ensure proper fits and shapes.
- Be responsible for size charts, grading and technical templates.
- Be willing and able to travel for your role.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years working experience within product development or production, preferably with denim
- A university degree or equivalent experience within the textile industry
- Solid knowledge around production, materials and product life cycles
- Ability to manage well under tight deadlines, all while remaining flexible
- A strong eye for detail
- Excellent communication skills
- A team-player attitude
- Familiar with working in a Mac environment, specifically with Illustrator and InDesign
- Excellent English skills, both written and spoken (other languages are a bonus)
